The Story of JMT
JMT Leather was founded in England in 1992 and from the beginning, we have focused on delivering high-quality upholstery leather, produced in Italy and developed in close collaboration with leading designers and leather specialists.
Over time, JMT has evolved beyond a traditional material supplier. We work at the intersection of design intent and manufacturing execution—translating concepts into materials that perform, both aesthetically and technically.
Our leather is widely specified across residential, high-end hospitality, and commercial environments, as well as in automotive and marine sectors.
Today, JMT is recognised as a trusted partner in delivering consistent quality and design integrity. We maintain approximately 1.2 million square feet of stock in Italy and China, offering over 24 collections in more than 600 colours—ensuring both flexibility and reliability at scale

1) Consistent raw hide supply from the best UK and north European slaughterhouses. Focus on beef breeds, such as Aberdeen Angus, for the grain selection and fibre structure.
2) Good preservation techniques and short transportation time to Italy ensure minimal bacterial damage, which is particularly important for aniline leathers.
3) From raw hide to wet blue hide and to finished products, our engineering team, which has over 30 years’ experience, monitors the whole process through 4 times inspections on each batch to ensure excellent quality and consistency.
